Recovery for Homeless Men

About the New Creation Program

You can find a hot meal, safe shelter, and an opportunity for a successful, Christ-centered life at John 3:16 Mission. If you want to escape a life of homelessness, addiction, or another life-controlling issue, consider enrolling in our Men’s New Creation Recovery Program.

We can help you get your life back on track so you can be independent again.

We will provide for your basic needs as you complete the 12-month live-in program. By the time of graduation, our goal is that you will be employed and ready to live life on your own again. As you complete the program, you will be supported every step of the way by our community of dedicated staff, mentors, volunteers, and other recovery students.

When you enter the New Creation Program, you will meet with one of our counselors to create a personalized plan for your success. Each student is encouraged and taught the skills to be self-motivated, but we will work with you every step of the way, making sure your program plan meets your needs.

A key focus of the program is to help our students become lifelong Christian disciples who are equipped with the emotional, psychological, and spiritual tools to live successful lives and give back to their communities. As a part of your recovery journey, we offer a variety of activities and tools to help you:

  • Group accountability
  • Individual counseling
  • Mentoring
  • Retreats
  • Bible studies
  • Strengthening work ethic
  • Community service projects with the Mission
  • Adult education and GED classes
  • Employment preparation and vocational training
  • Life skills
  • Personal responsibility
  • Setting boundaries
  • And more

What to Expect

The New Creation Program involves 5 stages in your recovery journey. You will move from one stage to the next as your journey progresses, with the end goal of transitioning to your renewed life at the end of the 12 months.
PHASE 1 - (after pre-program intake screening) identifying and acknowledging personal issues in order to begin the path to recovery. You will have a place to sleep every night, three meals, and the opportunity to participate in nightly chapel services. You will receive a handbook and be able to undergo orientation with the director.
PHASE 2 - processing and planning a path to recovery. You and your counselor will identify what your recovery needs are and identify what your next steps will be.
PHASE 3 - engaging with program activities and tools. You will attend Life Skills and Milestones/Boundaries classes, experience vocational training, and revisit your recovery journey plan with your counselor to make sure you’re heading in the right direction.
PHASE 4 - returning to work. You will maintain a work ethic by volunteering in a higher capacity in the Mission, be able to look for employment two days per week, continue attending Life Skills and Milestones/Boundaries classes, continue meeting with your counselor, and more.
PHASE 5 - preparing for a return to the community and graduation. You and your mentor will make sure you have the best plan for your new life after the program.
