Volunteer Gets Family In on Action
Note: John 3:16 Mission still needs volunteers to serve during this difficult time. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Cindy Webster at cwebster@john316mission.org or 918-574-8620. You may also click on the volunteer link at www.john316mission.org
For Amy Hanle and her family, volunteering at John 3:16 Mission is an act of faith.
“I love volunteering at John 3:16 Mission because it is a Christian organization and I get to serve God while also helping people." “I believe in John 3:16 and what it stands for. There are so many opportunities to serve in various ways.”
Despite the Coronavirus Pandemic, Hanle has continued to serve. Recently, she helped with the Mission’s Birthday Party for the Homeless and also distributes groceries to needy families at the Mission’s Family & Youth Center.
The Hanle family, including her husband and three children, have been volunteering for over two years. Her parents also come sometimes along with an aunt from Kansas City. They have helped with food drives, Thanksgiving basket distributions, special events, serving meals at the shelter and driving women in recovery between Mission locations.
The family, which belongs to Life Church South Tulsa, moved to Tulsa from Arkansas over seven years ago and began looking for a place to serve. “I particularly like serving at John 3:16 because they are spreading the Gospel and sharing the love of Jesus through their words and actions,” she adds.
